The main objective in English 1010 was to become a better writer than you were previously and organize ideas effectively. I've always considered myself a good writer, but I realize now, there’s always room for improvement. I struggled with transitions and running off topic from the main idea. Due to the class, and Kimberly Strickland pointing out my weaknesses, it made me try harder on transitions and eliminate sentences that stray away from my topic. I look back at my work from last semester and see exactly how organized and direct my writing has become. Also, working on my writing in other classes has become easier, I’m able to write quality, and straight to the point papers or summaries. The reason why being direct to the point and having organization is extremely important is because, it’s hard to make a valid argument when you are talking about the importance of fruit, but stray off to vegetables.
In my issue exploration paper it help me greatly improve my organization skills compared to my work from last semester. In my IEP I discussed the evolution of the social movement of feminism, discussing the good and the bad that came along with this social change. In comparison, after looking back at my fall semester sociology research paper, I see exactly how much my writing has improved. My transitions are exceptional, I’m straight to point, and I no longer run off topic. Overall, I've become a much better writer than I once was and I conclusively organize my ideas.
